Celsius Energy wins the British Renewable Energy Award in the Innovation category

Celsius Energy is proud to receive the British Renewable Energy Award for Innovation. This recognition highlights the concrete impact and scalability of our solution to decarbonize heating and cooling in buildings.   Just months after launching our first demonstrator site in the UK (November 2024), this milestone confirms the growing momentum for shallow geothermal energy as a reliable and cost-effective alternative for the built environment.

What makes our solution unique?

• A system that goes anywhere, thanks to pyramid-shaped drilling
  The small surface footprint of Celsius Energy’s ground-source heat pump solution — just two parking spaces — makes it viable for new and existing buildings alike, even in constrained urban areas. This architecture has demonstrated the same heating capacity as conventional vertical borehole fields, with shorter drilled lengths and minimal site disruption.
• Borehole exchangers as thermal batteries: towards a new standard in GSHP dimensioning
  Our proprietary modelling software characterises each site as a “geothermal battery”, based on thermal capacity and energy demand. It allows precise dimensioning tailored to the subsurface, the building’s heating/cooling needs, and spatial constraints — a new approach to optimising geothermal system design.
• A turnkey, remote-controllable solution
  We offer end-to-end project delivery, from design to implementation. A digital plug-and-play interface allows real-time monitoring of energy use and performance, accessible via phone or computer.
• A dependable, research-backed system
  Our solution integrates proven technologies — like pyramid drilling and digital optimisation — adapted from other industries. Backed by the engineering expertise of SLB, it also benefits from dozens of patents developed across its lifecycle.
